Sweet Dreams

We never had a video monitor with Nina, so now we love being able to see what Andrew is up to when it's night time.

This screen shot from early morning caught my attention: where is the baby?!? He actually was sleeping on his tummy, with both feet hanging through the crib railings!

You can also see how he likes to roll around as he sings himself to sleep, and his newest trick of sitting up while waiting for someone to come in. He's still such a good boy, though: 11 hours of continuous sleep is the norm every night. Sweet dreams indeed!

Hi Aunt Randi

My sister made a quick weekend visit down from DC and finally got to meet Andrew. They hit it off instantly and he showed off some great toothy grins for her. He enjoyed a nice stroll and a good splash in the pool, and of course tons of snuggles.

Happy Fourth!

Andrew put on his red, white and blue for the Harbor Springs annual 4th of July Parade, and only got scared when a loud Harley rumbled by. Otherwise he seemed to enjoy the band, cars, firetrucks and floats.

Back at the cottage he had some good bonding with his cousin Toby and lounged on the beach with Daddy.

First Visit to Michigan

Andrew finally gets to experience the windy beach at Little Traverse Bay! He loved the sand and had a hard time keeping it out of his mouth. He didn't mind being bundled up in the least bit, and really loved riding in the wagon with his big sis.

Yum yum!

Andrew is really getting the hang of new flavors and stuffing his face with food. He is still skeptical of any utensils, but will happily smear yogurt or hummus all over himself with his hands. Chow down Buddy!

Sitting and Eating

Andrew has been busy getting stronger and more independent every day. He loves to choose which toys to grab and shake, and he is taste-testing all sorts of real food (strawberries are a sure favorite). His independence means our world is getting messier, but he's so darn cute, who cares??

Happy Easter

Andrew's first Easter was a great success: snuggling with Great Maureen, attending the Easter egg hunt, and nibbling on pretzel bread and hanging with the guys at brunch. Andrew has had so much practice being cared for by different people that he was highly cooperative in training Miller on how to bottle feed a baby.

Happy 6 Months!

Every time I tell someone Andrew is already six months old I just can't believe it. He continues to be the happiest baby, giggling with his big sister, grabbing and mouthing everything in sight, and sleeping the nights away.

Now that spring is here we are spending more time outside again: at the playground, in the yard, and now even in the swing! Nina loved pushing Andrew, and of course he was thrilled too. And yes, he has started solid food... well, playing with it anyway!

Time Flies!

Well, this is what happens when the working mother of two tried to keep up with regular blog posting... things get behind!

Andrew is already 5 months old! He loves sitting in his bumbo for a better view of the world, and now rides in the buggy at school just like the big kids (no more cradle seat). He also loved dressing up as a monkey for Purim... and then fell asleep in my arms during the parade!

Big Boy at School

This kid is living it up at the J! Now he is big enough to go for rides in a stroller or even the buggy with his classmates. He also takes his naps very seriously and sleeps like a... baby! Every day another teacher tells me how much they love snuggling with him or making him laugh; I think they fight over who gets to hold him and feed him. ;-)

And happy 4 months! No surprise: he is in the 70th percentile for length at 26.75 inches and only the 10th percentile for weight at 12 pounds 13 ounces. No doubt he is growing, just in the wrong direction!

Big Smiles

This baby is becoming quite the charmer. He is always smiling. Even when he's fussy and hungry or tired there's a little grin that creeps in between cries. We love our non-baby video monitor, with its excellent picture quality and automatic infrared at night. He still sleeps in our room at night but he is plenty happy with naps in his own room.
